The project is funded by the European Media and Information Fund (EMIF) and has an 18-month duration. To facilitate the task of fact-checking, MuseAI will use AI to detect and match suspicious claims. The project’s aim is to develop new tools that provide accurate claim detection and matching solutions that can accelerate and apply fact-checking processes in a range of contexts such as different social networks, articles, transcripts and more, and matching them to relevant and reliable information sources. The project focuses on developing a multilingual claim detection and matching solution, starting with Spanish and English and gradually incorporating more European languages.
The consortium comprises EFE Verifica, the Spanish-speaking fact-checking service of EFE, which is an international, multilingual and multimedia news agency with a worldwide network of journalists, as well as the Applied Intelligence and Data Analysis research group of the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. ATC acts as the coordinator of the project and is in charge of Communication and Dissemination activities. ATC will also contribute to tasks such as Mapping and reviewing state-of-the-art AI approaches, Design and Development of the final claim detection and matching solution, development of the final solution, integrating the AI models and developing the front-end of the service.
The project started in January 2024 and will last for 18 months.
