Trust is essential to society. Blockchain shifts some of the trust in people and institutions to trust in technology. The main objective of the EU-funded TruBlo project is to support and facilitate research on technology that will lead to more scalable blockchain-based solutions and applications. These will contribute to ensuring the exchange of trustworthy and reliable content on social networks and media. To achieve its aims, the project will implement a series of open calls, inviting academic and R&D research teams to define and implement small-scale research projects related to trust and reputation models on blockchains as well as proof-of-location and proof-of-validity authentication mechanisms.
Participating in TruBlo are six European organisations. In order to support selected innovator teams the partners provide expertise from a range of relevant areas:
- Digital payments (Worldline)
- Global startup community (F6S)
- Blockchain infrastructure (Alastria)
- International media (Deutsche Welle)
- Software & development expertise (ATC)
- Academia/Technology (ICCS)
ATC will be leading the Technical and Business Support Services to Third Parties. Moreover, it will provide the technological infrastructure related with the European Observatory against Disinformation and coordinate all activities and actions related to the observatory. Furthermore, ATC will contribute in dissemination and communication activities of the project.
The project started in September 2020 and will last for 36 months.
