MedDMO 2.0 is the continuation of MedDMO and operates under the umbrella of CEDMO, covering the European Southeast borders. It comprises three countries (Greece, Cyprus and Malta) that apart from the geographic similarities, face quite similar challenges regarding disinformation campaigns that often try to polarise the EU debate around immigration and borders control issues. MedDMO brings together research, fact-checking and media organisations with internationally acknowledged research work and activity in the area of disinformation and important involvement in the media ecosystems of the three countries. MedDMO has set up a technological platform directly connected to the EDMO infrastructure and a daily operation of investigative research feeds the central and other national hubs with valuable information on a daily basis.
The consortium members are: CERTH (Centre for Research and Technology Hellas), Cyprus University of Technology (CUT), Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH), Agence France Press (AFP), Athens Technology Center (ATC), Ellinika Hoaxes, the University of Malta (UoM), the Times of Malta (ToM) and the University of Cyprus (UoC).
ATC has set up and maintains Truly Media and the project website. It is also responsible for communication and dissemination activities.
The project started in September 2025 and will last for 36 months.
