HUMANE

A typology, method and roadmap for HUman-MAchine NEtworks

HUMANE was a project co-funded by the EC in the framework of H2020, ICT-31-2014 programme. The project developed a typology of human-machine networks focused on characteristics of relationships between networked humans and machines such as trust, motivation, reputation, responsibility, privacy and security. It considered health indicators for networks and will create prototype tools that can be exploited through a community of stakeholders to create and enrich human-machine networks. It also proposed a roadmap and methodology for the evolution of such networks, appropriate to the needs of ICT developers, building on in-depth case studies taken from R&I projects relevant to the societal DAE pillars to form a supporting framework for future thinking and ICT policy-making in Europe.

HUMANE consortium, coordinated by SINTEF (Norway) included ATC (Greece), University of Oxford (UK) and University of Southampton (UK).

The ATC Innovation Lab participated in HUMANE leading the work-package about ‘Implications for future thinking and policy making’ in the development of the roadmap for future human-machine networks. ATC will contribute strongly to the case studies will collaborate with othe partners for the dissemination and exploitation of the project results.

The project started in April 2015 and had a duration of 24 months.
