URBANAGE project would like to invite you to join the virtual workshop on ‘Age-Friendly Cities: Actively engaging older people as actors in urban planning’ at the European Week of Region and Cities.
In 2030 1 billion people across the globe will be 65 years or older with the majority living in cities. As a result longer urban-based lives need to be urgently planned for by local authorities and urban planners. New technologies including Digital Twins are a game changer for improving engagement and collaboration for achieving age-friendly cities. In the workshop you will learn from the experiences of Helsinki, Santander and Flanders about how to lower barriers to older citizen engagement; effective co-design ingredients; and how to use Digital Twin technology to leverage citizens’ needs.
The workshop will take place online on the 12th October 2021 at 4:30pm CET. You will have the opportunity to engage with experts including:
- Felipe Perez-Manso, Councillor for Innovation and Contracting at Santander City Council
- Tine Buffel – Director of Manchester Urban Aging Research Group
- Nhu Tram – Project Officer, AGE Platform Europe
