Social Observatory for Disinformation and Social Media Analysis!

SOMA is a Coordination and Support action aiming to provide support to a European community that will jointly fight disinformation. SOMA will support experts in their work against disinformation providing them useful infrastructure and connection with a wide community of experts to collaborate in specific tasks.

SOMA will provide:

  • Support to a network of experts monitoring online disinformation,
  • Dedicated training programs,
  • 2 national centres for research around disinformation,
  • A methodology to assess the impact of verification tools and media literacy strategies,
  • Establishment of the Source Transparency Index (STI),
  • Roadmap for best practices in content verification.

SOMA is a collaboration between 5 partners from 3 countries: ATC  (Greece) coordinating the project; Pagella Politica (Italy); The LUISS Data Lab (Italy); The Aarhus University (Denmark); T6Ecosystems (Italy).

ATC is the Project Coordinator while also coordinating the dissemination and communication activities of the project.

The project started in November 2018 and has a duration of 30 months.
