RADON

ATC is joining up efforts with leading academic and commercial organisations in the context of the EU-funded RADON project (Grant Agreement: H2020-ICT-2018-2- 825040) to unlock the benefits of serverless function-as-a-service (Faas) computing for the European software industry. The project started in January 2019 and will last for 30 months.

SOMA

SOMA is a Coordination and Support action aiming to provide support to a European community that will jointly fight disinformation. SOMA will support experts in their work against disinformation providing them useful infrastructure and connection with a wide community of experts to collaborate in specific tasks.

The amount of digital content available to creative industries is growing exponentially, driven by the ubiquitous use of smartphones and the proliferation of social media.

BigDataStack

The new data-driven industrial revolution highlights the need for big data technologies to unlock the potential in various application domains. In this context, emerging innovative solutions exploit several underlying infrastructure and cluster management systems.

Co-VAL

The Co-VAL project is a new European research initiative, co-funded under the H2020 programme, which aims to discover, analyse, and provide policy recommendations for transformative strategies that integrate the co-creation of value in public administrations.

PoliVisu

PoliVisu is a three-year long Horizon 2020 project that will transform local transport systems, making them more optimised, resilient and citizen-centric.

“Robot journalism” represents a shift towards the automation of journalistic tasks related to news reporting, writing, curation, and data analysis. Exploiting the abundance of news sources on the web, this technology offers new opportunities for easily creating content on a massive scale and covering events more quickly than a human ever could.

Verify.Media

Athens Technology Center (ATC) and Deutsche Welle (DW) were awarded co-funding from Google’s Digital News Initiative (DNI) to develop a set of digital tools that  aid journalists in social media content aggregation, curation and, most importantly, verification.

HUMANE was a project co-funded by the EC in the framework of H2020, ICT-31-2014 programme.

REVEAL

The world of media and communication is currently experiencing enormous disruptions: from one-way communication and word of mouth exchanges, we have moved to bi- or multi directional communication patterns. No longer can selected few (e.g. media organizations and controllers of communication channels) act as gatekeepers, deciding what is communicated to whom and what not.

IA4SI

IA4SI is a project co-funded by the European Commission, under the FP7 Coordination and Support Action – ICT-2013.5.5 Collective Awareness Platforms for Sustainability and Social Innovation.

MEDIATECH

MEDIATECH is about providing a complete package of knowledge regarding the current advancements in the media industry using innovative technologies. The aim is to develop a complete training package for the development of new media and the applicability of new technological advancements in traditional media.

MoDisSENSE

MoDisSENSE enriches social networking services by exploiting the continuous data flow from the daily use of mobile phones. This flow includes data from user visited locations, contacts, calls and calendar combined with data acquired from the user’s social network (list of friends, profile and preferences).

Viopolis

Introduction

Viopolis takes a radical approach to the long term preservation of digital user content. The system will allow Viopolis enriched User Content to be distributed and redistributed through a network of commercial and non-profit files (Preservation Services) while ensuring a lasting relationship between the holder and the spiritual content owner.

SocialSensor

SocialSensor will develop a new framework for enabling real-time multimedia indexing and search in the Social Web. The project will move beyond conventional text-based indexing and retrieval models by mining and aggregating user inputs and content over multiple social networking sites.

SUMAT

SUMAT developed an online subtitle translation service addressing 9 different European languages combined into 14 different language pairs, with the aim to semi-automatize at a large scale the subtitle translation processes of both freelance translators and subtitling companies, in order to optimize their efficiency and productivity thereby helping them to meet the market demands.
