Digger

Digger is a project co-funded by Google under the Digital News Initiative programme, in which ATC joins forces with Deuthche Welle and the Fraunhofer Institute for Digital Media Technology (IDMT) for creating tools that will help media organizations detect deepfakes and fight visual disinformation. 

WeVerify

WeVerify

WeVerify is a project co-funded by the European Commission, which aims to develop intelligent tools for assessing the trustworthiness of digital content found online. A key output will be a collaborative, decentralised content verification, tracking, and debunking platform which aims to detect disinformation. By analyzing social media and web content through cross-modal content verification, social network analysis, micro-targeted debunking and a blockchain-based public database of known fakes, WeVerify will address the advanced content verification challenges and expose fabricated content.

Think NEXUS

Think NEXUS project aims to reinforce EU-US collaboration, through its dedicated Think Tank, involving major stakeholders (researchers, entrepreneurs, policy makers) from both sides of the Atlantic. The Think Tank will deal with NGI-related thematics, specifically focusing in in three areas: Science and Technology, Innovation and Entrepreneurship and Policy.

Creating engaging news video stories

 In the age of smartphones, video sharing platforms and social media, news events tend to generate large amounts of video content, which news and media organizations could exploit to develop novel revenue paths. However, selecting relevant content and embedding it to news stories, in a way that adds value, is a manual, labour-intensive, time-demanding task.

ATC is joining up efforts with leading academic and commercial organisations in the context of the EU-funded RADON project (Grant Agreement: H2020-ICT-2018-2- 825040) to unlock the benefits of serverless function-as-a-service (Faas) computing for the European software industry. The project started in January 2019 and will last for 30 months.
