uDebate is being used by Open Government Partnership (OGP) Ireland!

23 July 2013

The ATC solution uDebate, which is the outcome of the PuzzledbyPolicy EU-funded project, is being used by Open Government Partnership (OGP) Ireland, as the online component for their consultation on the National Action Plan (http://www.ogpireland.ie/your-voice/). The OGP is an international initiative to make governments more transparent, accountable and effective, initiated by 8 countries, including UK, Brasil, Norway and USA.

uDebate is a web based tool enabling organized and therefore more effective on-line discussions among participants with common interests on various subjects. It offers users the capability to enter specific types of posting in online discussions e.g. problems-issues, or possible alternative solutions to a problem-issue that the same or another user has entered, or even advantages-disadvantages of a solution that the same or another user has entered, etc. As such both citizens and decision-makers can access the uDebate in order to discuss and exchange views on different issues. The debate has the form of a tree presentation depicting all the opinions. Through this tree the decision-makers can identify the strongest opinions as well as the con-arguments, pro-arguments, alternatives and related comments.
